How do I become a member of St. Barnabas?

If you are baptized, attend services, receive Holy Communion regularly and are on the parish list, then you are a member of the parish. To get on the parish list, talk to one of the greeters at our Welcome Table, or contact our parish office. There is a form for you to fill out so that we can have some necessary information and, most of all, so that we can be in touch with you.
New? What To Expect in Our Services
We offer two Sunday morning worship experiences, each designed to honour and glorify God through communal worship.

Both services are liturgical. Liturgical services are participatory. Worship is not a “spectator sport”. A liturgical service follows an ancient form of worship with many of the prayers printed out and repeated week to week. A liturgical service also follows a church calendar which focuses on events in the life of Jesus and the history of God’s work of salvation. This calendar is followed by other liturgical churches and repeats year to year. A liturgical service also features a substantial amount of reading from the bible. These Sunday readings follow a common lectionary. *

Our early service, at 8:30 a.m., is more traditional and quiet and follows the Book of Common Prayer.  It provides a tranquil and reflective atmosphere, emphasizing formality and reverence.

Our second service, at 10:30 a.m., follows the Book of Alternative Services and is a little more contemporary in its approach. This is a larger and more active service with programming for children and youth.

Both services are a sung Eucharist, that is, they include portions of the liturgy that are sung by the priest and congregation.

Both services include Communion and conclude with fellowship time in the Hall.

There is also a mid-week Communion service every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., offering an informal and contemplative worship service.
